I am following up on a previous post where we discussed “Taming Mouths.” A lot of people asked the big question: “How?”
That is a good question, and the verse below came to mind. I was about to dive into the Word this morning, and I have this verse engraved on the front of my Bible.
This verse was a big part of my healing. I had always been taught, thought, and lived as if everything depended on me. As a follower of Christ, this could not be further from the truth. My power, authority, and clarity come from Him and His power, authority, and clarity. This is called wisdom and having the mind of Christ, not the mind of this world. Our culture is very unfamiliar with this, and you can tell by the way most live.
I used to white-knuckle everything and tried to use my own strength to do it all. I was like the person in the second photo—completely drained. My relationships were draining, my work was draining, and at times I was even too drained to enjoy the things I once loved. BUT when we go ALL IN with Jesus, we receive a new purpose, a new outlook, and we discover something unfamiliar to the world: truth, strength, and clarity.
So stop trying to do it all or carry the burden on your own shoulders when the One is right there, ready to show you the Way. This does not mean we do not have a part in putting in the work. This time, put in the workd with divine direction that is blessed. Ask. Seek. Knock. AND LISTEN.
We ALL need this growth. It never ends, and we should desire to be continually forged.
You are not effective if you are drained, and the enemy knows this!
“…Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
Zechariah 4:6
