Eddie Penney joins us on the Shawn Ryan Show to give you his firsthand account of once being scared of Jesus, what he referred to as the boogeyman, to becoming a true warrior of Christ. Eddie served as a United States Marine to later becoming a U.S. Navy SEAL and joining the Elite SEAL Team 6. Eddie has seen the worst of evil and even became addicted to taking the evil off this planet. A chapter in his new book, Unafraid, titled "kill addict" describes his desires of taking the fight to the enemy. Eddie has weathered the storm and has faced many challenges along his journey while serving at DEVGRU. One of the biggest loss that occurred from his Squadron at Gold was Extortion 17. This is a true story of a man who surrendered his life to God after a life at war.
We talk a lot about spiritual stuff here for a good reason. If we allow it and invite Christ into those areas, it's the foundation for ALL things. We allow growth that this world does not know, and it's awesome.
Just scroll through the media or turn on the TV to see the mindset of the lost. It is where we have all been, but now we can walk in the light, as we have eyes to see. As we seek, more truth is revealed to enhance.
Our eating habits are one of those areas. In a world that pushes every possible additive, preservative, sugary food, and chemical substitute in our faces, it is wise to focus on Christ and draw on His strength when we may be weak to make better choices.
There are about five dessert places (stores) near my house. This society does not care about your health, just your money.
If you look at sex, music, TV, and food, you will see perversion at full speed. What God intended for good, the world and the enemy came right behind and perverted these things. More on this topic later, a lot more.
Ask for guidance and listen. For many, it is small, unnoticeable choices in our preparation and choices. Changing to healthier eating will improve sleep, energy, and mind clarity, and make you more enjoyable to be around.
We are called to lead, so we should fill ourselves with good and pleasing things to glorify Him in all we do.
Many know their struggles, and so does He. Many more do not realize they are struggling, so it is wise to have the problem areas highlighted so we can identify, remove, and replace them with the good.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.” — James 1:5-6
We are in a time when many things are being promoted that do not align with our Lord. We have got to identify them and stand for Him and all His righteousness.
Sometimes, it feels like you are the only one, or it is OK since many are doing it or believing a certain way. We are called to set our eyes on Christ and listen for His guidance.
Remember, the enemy is crafty. But also remember, we have authority in Jesus!
